The impact of alcohol consumption in Scotland in terms of harms to health as well as the wider impact on individuals, families, communities and the economy is well documented. This report presents revised estimates of patients admitted to hospital, deaths and the overall burden of disease attributable to alcohol consumption in Scotland by age group and sex. The key results are presented in the main report. Full information on the methodology and detailed tables on alcohol attributable fractions, alcohol-attributable morbidity and alcohol-attributable mortality are available in the supplementary appendix and supplementary tables.
