Health conditions: overview

Please use the left-hand menu to browse the list of health conditions covered in the this area of the website. To view the full list of health conditions in the left-hand menu you may need to scroll down the page.

In this section we have focussed on conditions that account for a major proportion of the burden of disease in Scotland, such as coronary heart disease, stroke and the major cancers (breast, colorectal, lung and prostate).

We have also included conditions that have important impacts on population health, where it may be difficult to find information, or where there is a need to highlight significant information gaps. Examples include asthma, allergic conditions, epilepsy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic liver disease, kidney disease and multiple sclerosis.

We have also included information on factors that influence our health, including immunisations, injuries, infections, diabetes, oral health and hepatitis C.

We include information on wellbeing in our mental health and suicide pages.
