Who is least likely to attend? An analysis of outpatient appointment 'Did Not Attend' (DNA) data in:

Erratum: In our DNA reports we stated that the cost of an outpatient appointment DNA was £120. That is an incorrect assumption, because although the cost of an outpatient appointment is £120, we cannot state a figure for the cost of a DNA, since as we state in the reports, clinics routinely overbook. Our text (on page 6 in the national report and page 5 in the three local reports) should have read:

"At an average cost of £120 for an outpatient appointment (2012 figure), missed appointments may present a cost to NHSScotland, but because many clinics routinely overbook to account for DNA's the actual financial costs may be much lower. However the real cost is to patients who are missing out on appropriate care."
