6th March 2025 - New Transport section
A new web section on Transport has been published in the Wider Determinants area of the ScotPHO website. Transport has both positive and negative effects on health and health inequalities which occur through multiple pathways. These include providing access to other building blocks of health, physical activity / inactivity, social connections, injuries, air and noise pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The section includes pages with data on:
- Journeys by mode;
- Transport access, affordability and satisfaction;
- Traffic; and,
- Casualties.
It also provides information on policy context and links to key data sources and key references.
