14th June 2019 - Scottish Burden of Disease Study, 2016 – Local geography / sub-national burden of disease estimates
The Scottish Burden of Disease (SBoD) study team has published estimates and supporting information relating to Scottish sub-national burden of disease. This includes an Excel file of burden of disease estimates for 68 individual causes by geography, sex and age-group, for 2016. Geographies include Scotland, region, NHS board and council area. There is an accompanying appendix that outlines the processes used to create local burden of disease estimates and important factors to consider when interpreting and using estimates. The SBoD 2016 local estimates are available from the Burden of Disease area of the ScotPHO website.
The study team have also published a national data visualisation tool that allows users to explore how individual causes of disease or injury contribute towards health loss in Scotland, and how this varies by socioeconomic status, sex and age-group.
