Religion, spirituality and belief: Demographics
Scotland’s Census in 2011 shows that 54% of people identify as being Church of Scotland, Roman Catholic or another Christian based faith; this is down from 65% in 2001 (Chart 1). A total of 37% of people stated they had no religion, up from 28% in 2001. More data and breakdowns of the population by religion are available from Scotland’s Census Data Explorer.
