Gender: gender inequalities in the determinants of health
The wider determinants of health are influenced by gender expectations. Social determinants include income, employment, crime, education, transport and housing. Other determinants include health behaviours such as smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity and diet. High-level statistics on gender differences for many of these health determinants are provided on the Scottish Government's Equality Evidence Finder.
