ARCHIVE - SBoD results 2015
The Scottish Burden of Disease (SBoD) study team have produced comprehensive estimates of Scotland's disease, condition and injury burden for 2015. Our overview report (521Kb) provides a summary of the study and the main findings focusing on the leading causes of disease burden in Scotland in 2015. Our age and gender report (483Kb) explores how the disease burden in Scotland varied by gender and age for the most common causes of disease burden in Scotland.
In addition the SBoD team have also published disease specific technical overviews which provide background information on the data and methodology used, noting any caveats with estimating the burden for the leading causes of disease burden in Scotland in 2015:
- Ischaemic heart disease (274Kb)
- Neck and lower back pain (277Kb)
- Depression (265Kb)
- COPD (291Kb)
- Lung cancer (302Kb)
- Stroke (276Kb)
- Alzheimer's and other dementias (273Kb)
- Drug use disorders (283Kb)
- Sense organ diseases (302Kb)
- Anxiety disorders (266Kb)
- Chronic liver diseases (268Kb)
- Alcohol dependence (307Kb)
- Migraine (267Kb)
- Diabetes (274Kb)
- Colorectal cancer (294Kb)
- Suicide and self-harm related injuries (338Kb)
- Other cardiovascular/circulatory (271Kb)
- Lower respiratory infections (263Kb)
- Falls (329Kb)
- Breast cancer (292Kb)
- Other musculoskeletal disorders (255Kb)
- Medication overuse headache (265Kb)
- Rheumatoid arthritis (264Kb)
- Skin diseases (278Kb)
- Osteoarthritis (262Kb)
We have also produced treemaps (effectively a rectangular pie chart, in which the size of each box for a disease or injury is proportional to the share of the total contributed by that disease) for the leading causes of disease burden in Scotland in 2015:
- DALYs, for men, all ages (54Kb)
- DALYs for women, all ages (52Kb)
- YLLs, for men, all ages (50Kb)
- YLLs, for women, all ages (49Kb)
- YLDs, for men, all ages (70Kb)
- YLDs, for women, all ages (49Kb)
